Dilip Chhabria's story is an inspiration for anyone who's ever dared to chase an unconventional dream. Surprisingly, Dilip started with a bachelor's degree in commerce. It was during this time, while browsing through an automobile magazine, that his life took an unexpected turn. An advertisement proclaiming, "Don't you want to be a car designer?" caught his attention. This simple question ignited a passion he never knew existed.

Dilip enrolled at the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where he majored in Transportation Design. He had a brief stint in General Motors and came back to India. He had an entreprenural spirit and wasn't satisfied with what jobs had to offer. This reason was enough to make him not look back.

Back in India, Dilip set up a small workshop in Marol, Mumbai, where he began his career by designing a ring-shaped horn for the Premier Padmini, which became quite popular. This gave him significant confidence to start DC designs!

1. DC Vampire (1999)

The DC Vampire is one of Dilip Chhabria’s most radical and unique designs. Introduced in 1999, the Vampire is based on the Daewoo Cielo. The DC Vampire was also featured in the Bollywood movie “Chal Mere Bhai,” starring Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, and Karishma Kapoor.

2. DC Gaia (2003)

Gaia was based on Mitshubishi Lancer. It featured large 22-inch wheels and a low-slung, sporty profile with a short window line, giving it a distinctive and elegant look.

3. DC Space Voyeger (2006)

The DC Design Space Voyager was indeed a 2006 concept vehicle based on the Reva electric car.
